The Houston Community College’s Office of Entrepreneurial Initiatives has received the Excellence in Specialty Entrepreneurship Education Award at the national conference of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers.

Houston Community College (HCC) Chancellor Cesar Maldonado, Ph.D., P.E., has been named to a key leadership group organized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to increase the Hispanic community’s access to USDA education and employment programs.

To earn the distinction, employers must respond to an online assessment that details their support of family-friendly policies.

Marian Magdaniel always wanted to express herself through fashion and the creative arts. She loved drawing, painting, violin, guitar and design, and especially believed that fashion was a great way to make something “come to life on your own.” Now, the 28-year-old Venezuelan-born, Houston-raised fashion student at Houston Community College’s Central Campus has learned that her multiple artistic abilities have placed her in rarified air.
