The Houston Community College Foundation Board has elected eight new members from diverse professional backgrounds who will each play a pivotal role in raising funds for HCC student success.

“We are delighted to welcome these new board members to our team and to the HCC family, and we are eager for them to join a group of professionals to offer their commitment to service and student success,” said Ryan McCauley, foundation board chair and managing director with Northern Trust.

The foundation and its board support HCC in attracting and educating students who embody the desire and dedication to learn, including many nontraditional students and those who have faced barriers to higher education.

“We are extremely grateful to the eight new foundation board members for their energy and enthusiasm in joining the board and supporting HCC student success through the work of the foundation,” said Interim HCC Chancellor Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher.

“Having board members with the ability to connect HCC on a broader basis to more Houston businesses and organizations that provide much needed funding for scholarships and programs will help HCC make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty and community,” said Karen L. Schmidt, CFRE, president of the foundation.

The foundation is also pleased to recognize board members who are transitioning into new roles as ambassadors and to acknowledge their significant contributions toward reaching HCC’s Invest in Houston’s Future Campaign $20 million goal some 16 months ahead of schedule, Schmidt noted.
