As one of the largest community colleges in the nation, HCC is a major economic driver for the Houston region and Texas, providing significant financial, employment, and social benefits while fostering long-term economic growth and stability for the region.

The Lennar Foundation has agreed to a partnership with HCC to launch a transformative workforce training program aimed at providing support for HCC Adult Education and Literacy students with an interest in careers in construction.

Katherine Rhodes Fields, Division Chair of Visual Arts since 2018 and interim dean, has been appointed dean of the HCC Media, Visual & Performing Arts Center of Excellence.

Houston Community College will reopen for normal operations on Thursday, Jan. 23. All classes, including online classes, will resume as scheduled.

HCC will close all facilities and online classes Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 and Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, due to inclement weather.
