Houston Community College will hold its Women in Apprenticeship Summit 2022 on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022 to mark the 85th Anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act and National Apprenticeship Week.

The event takes place at HCC'S West Houston Institute from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as part of a nationwide celebration to showcase the impact that registered apprenticeship programs have in building the workforce and economy.

The HCC event features a lineup of women leaders across high-demand industries along with representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor, Texas Workforce Commission and others. More than 20 partners and sponsors are participating. Attendees will include students, career seekers and employers from across the greater Houston area.

“Registered apprenticeships are a proven way for community members to obtain pathways to secure, high-paying careers in IT, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing and many more fields,” said Dr. Christina Robinson, executive director of HCC’s Office of Work-Based Learning and Industry Partnerships.

“We are proud to support National Apprenticeship Week and to showcase the impact apprenticeships have on building the workforce in our state and nation,” she said.

The West Houston Institute is at 2811 Hayes Road.
