The Houston Community College Foundation’s (HCCF) 2025 gala, held recently at the Hilton Americas Hotel, raised more than $700,000 to support student success and scholarships, according to HCCF President Karen L. Schmidt. The event honored Texas State Rep. Christina Morales with the foundation’s Crystal Eagle Award for her civic and community leadership and her family’s legacy of support for educational access in the Houston community and at Houston Community College (HCC).

Jobseekers, students and members of the community are invited to attend a symposium and job fair June 20 that will provide them with employment and education opportunities. The Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Workforce Development Symposium and Job Fair is set for 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the HCC Missouri City campus at 1600 Texas Parkway in Missouri City.

Houston Community College (HCC) has established various opportunities for students to begin their careers with confidence. A Letter of Intent (LOI) between the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and HCC establishes a collaborative partnership aimed at developing recruitment pathways for maritime education, training, and certification. This initiative not only enhances educational opportunities but also provides a guaranteed career pathway for HCC graduates.
