Houston Community College Hosts Two Vaccination Sites

May 17, 2021

Houston Community College’s Acres Homes and Central campuses will be COVID-19 vaccination sites on Wednesday, May 19 through Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The vaccines are administered by the Texas National Guard at no cost to the public, in partnership with the Texas Department of Emergency Management.

The second doses of the vaccine are scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 through Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the same locations.

Walk-ins and drive-ups are encouraged, and no appointment is necessary.

The Texas National Guard is delivering the Pfizer vaccine at the two HCC sites in support of irradicating the pandemic crisis in the greater metropolitan Houston area.

New guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now allows young adults ages 12 to 15 to receive the vaccine as part of new efforts to reach herd immunity.

Faculty and staff (full-time, part-time and adjuncts) who receive a vaccination at the locations during scheduled work hours will not be charged leave. More information will be sent by Talent Engagement through a TE News e-mail.

The operation will be extended if demand warrants.
