Small business owners complete the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Houston Community College

The 20th cohort of small business owners  completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Houston Community College in a ceremony at the HCC Alief Hayes Campus December 13.

These business leaders spent 14 weeks, roughly 100 class hours, studying a business and management curriculum. The curriculum covered accounting, human resources, negotiations and marketing, among other topics. The program also included one-on-one business advising, financial workshops and advice from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses community partners.

Brad Klein, president of Building Professionals of Texas Janitorial Service, and a 2012 graduate of the Houston program, was the keynote speaker at the Cohort 20 graduation. Klein emphasized the profound learning that comes from failing while trying to grow a small business.
