Houston City College symposium on April 1 centers on next-gen AI innovation

Mar 26, 2026

Houston City College’s (HCC) annual Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovation Symposium and Expo on Wednesday, April 1, will bring together industry leaders, educators and students for a day of insight, collaboration and hands‑on exploration at the HCC West Loop campus. The event is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature panels, presentations, workshops, student project showcase and demos, and exhibits.

The 2026 event caps a remarkable four‑year evolution—from a modest regional forum in 2022 to a nationally recognized gathering that drew more than 1,300 participants in 2025 and continued to expand its reach and influence this year.

The symposium’s rapid growth mirrors the college’s own transformation. Since adopting the Houston City College name in 2025, the institution has accelerated its leadership in applied AI, setting benchmarks across Texas and the nation. HCC was the first college in Texas to launch an Associate of Applied Science in AI and Robotics in 2020 and the first U.S. community college to offer a Bachelor of Applied Technology in AI and Robotics in 2023—programs that now serve as talent engines for Houston’s fast‑advancing innovation ecosystem.
