HCC Talent Solutions creates success through collaboration

Jul 15, 2025

At Talent Solutions, we believe that the strongest results come from working together. Over the years, we've partnered across departments at Houston Community College (HCC) to bring innovative, workforce-aligned training to life. Today, we’re proud to spotlight two recent collaborations that are paving the way for future success—and making a case for the power of partnership.

A Win-Win with Nursing

Thanks to a renewed spirit of collaboration, we’ve formed a dynamic partnership with Dr. Nicole Townsend, Dean of Nursing at Coleman Campus. Together, we’ve developed high-impact training for OBGYN Medical Center Associates, focused on Professional Patient Communication (AIDET) and Bloodborne Pathogen Safety—both aligned with current medical industry standards.

In these sessions, we trained 44 medical assistants—many of whom Dr. Townsend hopes will be future students in Coleman’s Nursing Program. While teaching the best practices for avoiding needle sticks and improving patient satisfaction, she also introduced them to the opportunities and support available through HCC. It was a seamless blend of workforce training and academic recruitment—real-time impact with long-term vision.

This collaboration highlights how Talent Solutions can serve as both a training partner and a bridge to academic programs, building the future healthcare workforce from the ground up.

"As a Dean of Nursing, my priority is to ensure that education remains responsive, relevant and accessible,” Dr. Townsend said. “Collaborating with Talent Solutions allows me to extend that mission beyond the classroom by meeting learners where they are and connecting them to the academic and career pathways that can transform their futures.”

Innovation in Energy Training

At Talent Solutions, we work closely with Homer Stewart, Dean of the Global Energy Center of Excellence, to develop an innovative wastewater management course tailored to the growing needs of the water utility management sector.

By combining subject-matter expertise with practical, real-world applications, the course is designed to prepare students with the critical skills and knowledge required to get industry wastewater certifications to meet today’s evolving infrastructure and investment demands. This initiative exemplifies how industry-aligned programming can be successfully created through early collaboration and a shared strategic vision.

These success stories reflect a growing trend: departments across HCC are discovering that working with Talent Solutions leads to powerful, practical results. If you're ready to explore what we can build together, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s make the next success story yours!
