Talents or Hobbies, or Something People Don’t Know About You
I love dogs, hiking, backpacking, ultimate frisbee, snowboarding, running and calisthenics.

I hiked the Colorado Trail, around 500 miles from Denver to Durango over 39 days, during the pandemic and have plans to do more long-distance hikes in the future.

Why did you enroll at HCC Coleman College?
I hit the career ceiling as a physical therapy tech and wanted to be more involved with patient care. After I had been waitlisted by a couple physical therapy programs, I decided to try to get into a physical therapy assistant program and saw HCC Coleman College’s PTA program is one of the top-rated schools in Houston.

Why did you choose your program of study?
I have worked as a physical therapy tech for give years and learned that it is a field that I truly care about and am passionate about.

What do you like best about your college experience?
The really like the friends I have met in the program and the support that the professors and classmates have given me throughout my first year.

What do you like best about your program of study?
The professors set the expectations for all the students to be supportive and helpful to each other from the first day of classes. The contrast from everyone in competition with one another to everyone wanting each other to succeed was a welcome experience.

When you are tired, what motivates you to push forward?
The desire to finish what I started for myself and my dad, who passed away in the beginning of April, motivate me. My dad said he wanted me to graduate and that he was proud of all I have accomplished so far.

What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
Find what you are passionate about and choose something you enjoy learning about. The classes/studying won’t feel like a boring extra thing to worry about. If hearing about a certain subject gets you interested, then maintaining that interest is much less of a struggle.

Any final thoughts?
The Physical Therapy Assistant program at HCC Coleman College has been extremely rewarding, and even though it can be challenging, it makes it feel like that much more of an accomplishment when you reach the finish line. I’m excited to see what comes next!
