HCC VAST Academy hosts documentary screening, panel discussion, resource fair on inclusive hiring

Houston Community College will host the screening of “25 Prospect Street,” the story of how a former teacher transformed an abandoned bank into a state-of-the-art movie palace that provides unprecedented opportunities for people with disabilities. Houston is one of 15 cities chosen to screen the film and HCC’s VAST Academy is one of the hosts of the September 15 event.

Where: HCC West Houston Institute, 2811 Hayes Rd, Houston, TX 77082

When:  Saturday, September 15, 2018 (Doors will open at 1 p.m. for the resource fair and the movie screening begins at 2 p.m.)

HCC's VAST Academy provides post-secondary transition programs and comprehensive support services, which lead to meaningful credentials, employment and independence for differently-abled individuals. Opportunities include vocational certificates, pre-college and freshman success bridge courses, career readiness credentials, internships and employment assistance offered through an inclusive, relevant and affordable avenue.
