Dear neighbors,

As we march forward in 2015, it is exciting to share the growth of Houston Community College, which includes additions to its educational programs and expansions of campuses all across the region.

Working as your trustee for HCC District VII for the past several years, it is now my utmost pleasure to inform you that the vision I had is finally becoming a reality with our hard work and dedication to ensure that students have better access to HCC’s campuses and educational opportunities.

The Board of Trustees finally approved the relocation of the Missouri City Campus from Sienna Plantation to Texas Parkway. This extraordinary relocation and expansion of the campus will increase accessibility, student enrollment and revitalize Texas Parkway with an overall benefit to local economy and the constituents. The new easily accessible location for the Missouri City Campus will open many more educational opportunities for our students and the community.

As part of the $425 million HCC Groundbreaker Bond Program, construction will soon begin on a new workforce building on the Stafford Campus. Classes are underway at the new Alief Construction Technology Center at the Bissonnet Campus. Courses offered include HVAC, Industrial Math and students who attend Alief ISD schools are coming to this campus for dual-credit classes. Also as part of the bond program, an additional facility for STEM and Engineering programs will be added at the Alief Campus on Hayes Road.

Working for you, we will continue focusing on the partnerships being created to enhance opportunities for students across Houston.

In service,

Neeta Sane
