The Digital Gaming & Simulation program at Houston City College provides hands-on training for careers in game and simulation design. Students develop skills in art, programming, and interactive media to prepare for entry-level positions in the gaming industry.

The Insurance Specialist program area introduces students to business loss exposures and the operation of insurance policies related to property, business income, crime, marine, auto, and government programs. Students develop foundational knowledge of insurance concepts and may be prepared to take the licensing exam sponsored by the Department of Insurance.

The Introduction to Python Programming program area provides students with a foundational understanding of Python programming, including design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of software applications. Students learn core programming concepts and apply them to create, test, and document functional programs.

The Real Estate program at Houston City College provides students with the knowledge and specialized skills needed for a wide range of careers in the real estate industry. Students can prepare for roles in residential sales, commercial real estate, mortgage lending, inspection, and property management.

The Unmanned Aerial System (Drones) for Public Safety program area prepares students to plan and conduct unmanned flights in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS regulations. Students gain foundational knowledge and flight operation skills while preparing for the Drone Pilot FAA Part 107 Certification.

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program area prepares students for entry-level positions in the drone industry or for launching a small business as a professional drone operator. Students gain foundational knowledge and hands-on skills in FAA regulations and laws, flight operations, maintenance, customization, mapping and surveying, data analysis, and project management. The program also prepares learners for industry applications of drone technology and the FAA Part 107 certification for commercial drone operations.
