Key Family donates $25K for HCC Nursing scholarship endowment
Kistal and David Key of Houston recently donated $25,000 toward the HCC Nursing program at the Aug. 19 Board of Trustees meeting. The donation will go into an endowment in honor of Kistal Key’s mother, Chola “Honey” Furrow, who was a nurse.

Kistal and David Key of Houston recently donated $25,000 toward the Houston City College (HCC) Nursing program at the Aug. 19 Board of Trustees meeting. The donation will go into an endowment in honor of Kistal Key’s mother, Chola “Honey” Furrow, who was a nurse.
As the principal of the donation grows from interest and with additional donations, the HCC Nursing department expects to award its first scholarship by Fall 2029. Then the Chola “Honey” Furrow Endowed Nursing Scholarship will fund one scholarship to a Nursing student per year.
