How to Create News

Learn how to create and manage news pages within the designated News folders in Terminalfour.

Steps to Create a News Page

  1. Find your Section

    Navigate through the site tree by clicking the Home button in the top-left corner. News Pending Approval from Editor folder

    Go to:

    News > News Pending Approval From Editor > [Your College]

    For example, if you are creating a news article for Northeast College, navigate to:

    News > News Pending Approval From Editor > Northeast

  2. Add your Content

    • Open your College 
    • Add Content
    • Choose Content Type: News

    Content Type: News

  3. Enter News Details

    • Name: Internal name for the news content type (not visible on the front end).
    • Title: The news heading displayed on the page (use the actual news name).
    • Type: Select the appropriate news type.
    • Topic: Choose relevant topics. These help users filter and find news they’re interested in and applicable for them. 
    • College: Select the college publishing the news
    • Publish Date: The time stamp of the news.

    Main Body

    In this section, you will have the opportunity to use headings, add links and images, and create tables to enhance the visual presentation of the news. Below is a guideline to help you create accessible content.

  4. Save your News

    Once you reach a good stopping point for your news article, click Save.

    • Save Changes will send the news article to the Web Content Editor’s queue for approval.
    • Save as Draft will allow you to save your progress and return to it later. Drafts will not be sent to the Web Content Editor’s queue for approval.
