How to Add Items to The Media Library

The Media Library is the central place to upload, store, and manage images and documents that can be used across the website. Files added to the Media Library can be selected and reused in different content types, making it easier to maintain consistent assets without uploading the same file multiple times. This guide will walk you through how to add, organize, and use media files when building or updating website content.

Using the Media Library

  1. Accessing the Media Library

Screenshot of Media Library through the left navigation Access the Media Library from the left-hand navigation panel by expanding the Content menu and selecting Media Library.

The Media Library structure mirrors the website structure, so the folder path should match the page you are currently editing. For example, if you are editing:

    hccs.edu > About Us > Mission & Vision

The Media Library folder will follow a similar structure for storing related media assets, such as:

hccs.edu > Content Assets > Images (or Documents) > About Us > Mission & Vision

If the corresponding folder path does not exist, contact the admin to request that a new Media Library folder be created.

  2. Add Media

You can upload images and documents by clicking the Add Media button. Add Media button

Both images and PDF documents are uploaded through the Media Library.

The main difference is the folder structure used for storage.

    Images are stored under:
    hccs.edu > Content Assets > Images > About Us > Mission & Vision

    PDF documents are stored under:
    hccs.edu > Content Assets > Documents > About Us > Mission & Vision
