How you can get AI to work for you

Gemini is designed to act as a high-level assistant, helping you focus on the work that matters most. And Gemini Notebook is a source-grounded research assistant. By uploading your own PDFs, notes, policies, or manuscripts, you create a “grounded” AI that:

  • Only answers questions based on the specific documents you provide.
  • Provides citations and direct links to the source text within your documents.
  • Assists in organizing themes for subsequent work and can create custom study guides, mind maps, podcasts and videos.

These powerful tools can help you with use cases that matter.

For Faculty

  • Instructional design: Generate initial drafts of syllabi, lesson plans, or creative assessments aligned with your specific learning objectives.
  • Research acceleration: Use Gemini to summarize dense literature, draft grant proposal outlines, or synthesize complex datasets.
  • Personalized learning: Quickly create differentiated course materials or alternative explanations to support students with diverse learning needs.

For Staff

  • Administrative efficiency: Automate routine tasks such as document drafting, meeting summaries, scheduling, and workflow management to increase productivity.
  • Data-driven decision support: Analyze information, identify trends, and generate insights that help inform operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
  • Professional communications: Create first drafts of emails, reports, presentations, procedures, and other business documents while maintaining human review.
  • Service excellence: Enhance responsiveness by organizing information, tracking action items, and supporting timely follow-up for students, employees, and community partners.
  • Accessibility and inclusion: Use approved AI tools to improve accessibility, accommodations, and workplace effectiveness for employees with diverse needs.
