The Construction Management Technology program at Houston City College prepares students for careers in the construction industry by building skills in project coordination, planning, and field operations. It also supports workers already in the industry seeking career advancement.

The Construction Project Management program area prepares students with the skills needed to plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from start to finish. Students gain knowledge in scheduling, budgeting, contracts, safety, and project control to ensure successful project delivery in the construction industry.

The Cosmetology program at Houston City College provides both theory and hands-on training to prepare students for careers as licensed cosmetologists. Graduates who complete the full curriculum are eligible to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) exam and, upon passing, qualify for state licensure and employment opportunities.

The Criminal Justice program or Police Academy at Houston CIty College consists of the AA transfer plan for Criminal Justice, the AAS in Criminal Justice with concentrations in law enforcement, corrections, or juvenile justice, and the following certificate: Basic Peace Officer Licensing. Texas requires a four-year degree to qualify as a probation officer or protective service worker. Students must be 21 or older to enter the police academy.

The Culinary Arts program at Houston City College prepares students for successful careers in the fast-paced and diverse culinary industry. Training emphasizes strong technical skills, creativity, and professionalism needed for advancement in today’s culinary workforce.

The Cybersecurity program area equips students with the skills and knowledge in network security, compliance, and threat detection needed to defend against evolving cyber threats. Students are introduced to core cybersecurity principles, including common threats, vulnerabilities, and protective measures used to secure systems and networks.

The Associate of Arts in Dance at Houston City College prepares students for dance careers or transfer to four-year programs. Students develop technique in African, ballet, jazz, and modern dance; study choreography; and gain performance experience in a supportive environment led by professional faculty and guest artists. The program is committed to developing well-rounded, culturally diverse, and thoughtful dancers.

The Data Analytics program prepares students to turn raw data into meaningful insights that support data-driven decision-making in business and industry. Students learn statistical analysis, data visualization, and essential analytical tools through hands-on, project-based learning. The program equips graduates with the practical skills needed for entry-level roles in data analytics and other data-focused careers.

Dental Assistants work under the supervision of a licensed dentist and assist in the care and treatment of dental patients. They perform a variety of important functions in the dental office. As a vital member of the dental health team, the dental assistant prepares the patient for treatment, provides the dentist with necessary instruments, instructs patients in proper oral hygiene, records dental services, and performs various laboratory procedures and managerial duties for the office.

The Dental Hygiene program at Houston City College – Coleman College for Health Sciences prepares students to become entry-level dental hygienists ready to serve the oral health needs of the community. Training includes classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and clinical practice to build strong patient-care and technical skills.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is a four-semester program including online lectures, in-person labs and offsite clinical rotations. Classes can be on any day of the week, including the weekend. The program will let the students know in advance of their schedule.

The Digital Communication programs at Houston City College prepare students to create and produce visual content across today’s digital media landscape. Students develop skills in design, photography, writing, editing, and multimedia production for web, social media, mobile, immersive, and print platforms.

The Digital Gaming & Simulation program at Houston City College provides hands-on training for careers in game and simulation design. Students develop skills in art, programming, and interactive media to prepare for entry-level positions in the gaming industry.

The Drafting and Design Engineering Technology program at Houston City College provides up-to-date technical training in both architectural and engineering design drafting. Students gain the skills needed to create accurate drawings, models, and plans used across the construction and manufacturing industries.
