Meet Gia Jones, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Class of 2026, and find out what makes her a Coleman Champion!

Each year the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Health hosts a professional seminar, exhibit and social allowing members of the architectural and healthcare communities to network and showcase trends and the future of design in health architecture.

In 2016, Tammy Foy was just one class shy of earning her Associate of Science in Business Management at HCC, but family obligations took priority. Her parents became ill, responsibilities at home mounted, and her education was placed on hold.

As a woman of Mexican descent, Tanya Roche always felt drawn to the esteemed artist Frida Kahlo, known for her self-portraits of pain, passion and vibrant colors. Roche, a 47-year-old HCC Fashion Design student, originally from Queens, New York, used to buy clothing and dress like the famous artist in different phases of her life.

When Brittaney Wilmore reflects on her path to a career in broadcast journalism, she credits HCC with giving her more than an education. It gave her confidence, community and a clear sense of direction.

Elexis Robinson, a Global Online Honors College student at HCC, is pursuing a degree in artificial intelligence with a renewed sense of focus and intention. As a returning student and mother of a young son, she says discipline, structure and support help her excel academically.

Jason Loring transformed his future through Houston City College’s Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Supported by dedicated career services and expert mentorship, he impressed Foxconn at an HCC hiring event and launched a thriving career. Now a quality engineer, Jason credits HCC’s training, resources, and industry partnerships for unlocking life‑changing opportunity.

Jenna is very involved in the Respiratory Therapy program as the class treasurer and lab assistant. She also has a great personality and is always willing to assist students and program faculty.
