Boots & BBQ: A Veteran's Day Salute to Service

Join Houston City College’s Veteran & Military-Affiliated Student Success Office for Boots & BBQ, a special Veterans Day celebration honoring the service, sacrifice, and legacy of our nation’s veterans.

At the heart of this event is our Commemorative Walk, a meaningful opportunity to walk in honor or memory of a veteran who has served, sacrificed, inspired, or impacted your life. Whether you are honoring yourself, a family member, friend, or mentor, each step is a tribute to their story and service.

After the walk, stay and enjoy an afternoon of free BBQ, ice cream, a DJ, photo booth, games, activities, and more with fellow veterans, military-affiliated students, families, and the HCC community.

Come dressed in comfortable active wear, bring the name and photo of a veteran you would like to honor or remember, and join us as we walk with purpose, celebrate with pride, and honor the legacy of those who served.

Before the walk begins, you will have the opportunity to decorate a poster featuring your veteran's photo to carry during the walk.
