Navigating Around Terminalfour

  1. Log in to Terminalfour

    Open cms.hccs.edu. A screenshot of the login window is shown below.

    Credentials

    Login credentials are provided after your training request is approved.

  2. Accessing Site Structure

    After logging in, you’ll land on the welcome page. To access the Site Structure, click the Home button in the top left corner.

    Structure

    Pages are represented as sections.
    Sections are organized in a parent-child hierarchy.

  3. Accessing a Section

    Use the Site Structure to locate the section where your page will be placed. You can use the filter to quickly find the appropriate section.

    Site structure with filter sections highlighted This screenshot is for reference only. You will only see the sections you are approved to access and edit. After locating your section, click on its name to open it. You will see an empty section, as no content types have been added yet.

    Access to Sections

    Upon completion of the training, you will be given access to the sections that were requested. If additional access is required, please reach out to the Admin.

  4. Working within a Section

    The Preview button allows you to see how the page will appear while you are still working on it. The content must be saved as a draft before it can be previewed.

    Direct Edit allows you to edit the content directly on the page.

    The order of the content can be changed by clicking and holding the + icon on the left side of each content item, then dragging it to the desired location.

    To edit a specific content piece, hover over the content name and click on it.

    To delete a content piece, go to Actions button on that specific content piece and hit delete. Deleted content will appear as "inactive" until it is permanently deleted from the recycle bin.

    If you accidentally delete content, you can reactivate it by opening it and saving it again. This will send it back to the Web Content Editor’s queue. Once the item is approved, it will be restored as active.

  5. Adding Content

    To add content to a section:

    1. Click "Add Content"

    2. Select the Appropriate Content Type

    A list of available content types will appear. Use the filter box to quickly find the content type you need.

    3. Fill Out Content Details

    • The first field in every content piece is “Name.”
    • This name is not displayed on the page.
    • It is used internally to differentiate content.
    • Recommended: Name the content based on its title.

    4. Save Your Work

    Save as Draft while you are still working on a content piece. When you are finished, click Save, and it will go to the Web Content Editor’s queue for approval.
