The GED® test has been updated to make sure it measures what graduating high school seniors know and what colleges and employers will expect of you.

Four (4) parts:

Science (90 minutes)                                                               

Mathematical Reasoning (115 minutes)

Reasoning through Language Arts (150 minutes)               

Social Studies (70 minutes)

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

The HiSET exams will be discontinued in Texas starting September 1, 2021. Therefore, the last day to take any of the HiSET exams is August 31, 2021.  Any tests taken after August 31, 2021 will not be scored.

Due to COVID, HiSET may not be currently available at HCC.

The HiSET exam is a five-part test used for high school equivalency credentialing. The exam allows you to show you have the same academic knowledge and skills as a high school graduate.

Five (5) parts:

Language Arts-Reading (65 minutes)                               

Language Arts-Writing (120 minutes)

Mathematics (90 minutes)                                                  

Science (80 minutes)

Social Studies (70 minutes)
