TIG welding process on steel parts for heavy machinery repair

TIG Welding

The TIG Welding program area prepares students with foundational skills in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), including equipment setup, safety procedures, joint design, and welding techniques for metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. Students gain hands-on training in welding inspection and operation of GTAW equipment while preparing for entry-level employment in the welding industry and advancement into Pipe Welding courses.

Education track: Continuing Education

In TIG Welding course, students will learn setup and safety use of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding equipment, various joint designs of T-joint and V-groove; basic visual inspection of equipment and welding techniques of metal including aluminum and stainless steel. This course will prepare students for job placement in the welding industry using GTAW techniques as well as prepare students to advance to the Pipe Welding course.
