Residential Construction
The Residential Construction Certificate program prepares students for careers in the construction industry by providing hands-on training in residential building fundamentals. Students learn blueprint interpretation, construction math, framing techniques for floors, walls, ceilings, and roofs, as well as worksite safety practices used in residential construction projects. The program is designed to develop the next generation of builders, contractors, and entrepreneurs while preparing students for entry-level employment opportunities in the construction field.

Residential Construction, O.S.A.
HCC’s Residential Construction Certificate is developed to train the next generation of builders, contractors, and entrepreneurs. Within 6 months, this training will provide students with hands-on experience on the process involved in building a home. Students will interpret blueprints, understand construction math, frame floors, walls, ceilings, and roofs while practicing worksite safety. HCC-Career & Job Placement Services are available to assist students in job search.
Prerequisites: HS Diploma/GED recommended, 17 years of age
Supplies: Students are responsible for the purchase of their textbook and tools.
