Blending hands-on training with a strong technical foundation, the program covers modern vehicle systems including engines, drivetrains, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, and emerging automotive technologies.

The Basic Peace Officer Licensing program area prepares students for a career as a Texas Peace Officer by providing the required training and knowledge needed for entry into law enforcement. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the state licensing examination administered by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

The Heavy Vehicle, Diesel, and Industrial Technology program at Houston City College prepares students for entry-level careers in Texas’s growing heavy equipment and diesel industries.
