Jason Loring transformed his future through Houston City College’s Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Supported by dedicated career services and expert mentorship, he impressed Foxconn at an HCC hiring event and launched a thriving career. Now a quality engineer, Jason credits HCC’s training, resources, and industry partnerships for unlocking life‑changing opportunity.

The five-module series, which began Jan. 16, guided nearly 60 entrepreneurs and small business owners through a comprehensive journey of validating their business idea to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success.

Jenna is very involved in the Respiratory Therapy program as the class treasurer and lab assistant. She also has a great personality and is always willing to assist students and program faculty. All Houston City College campuses will be open for regularly scheduled classes on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Houston City College (HCC) will close all facilities on Saturday, Jan. 24, Sunday, Jan. 25, and Monday, Jan. 26, due to weather conditions.

When DeShanna Negret first enrolled at HCC in 2019, she was struggling with the reality that her oldest daughter was a senior in high school, and her two younger daughters were not far behind.

For HCC student Keonte Sowunmi, learning happens everywhere— whether that’s in the classroom or out in the city helping METRO riders navigate their routes. When he’s not studying, Sowunmi is on the move as a member of METRO’s Street Team, a customer-facing role he’s held for about a year.
