Fall 2026 Work-Study Job Fairs
Houston Community College Financial Aid is hosting Fall 2026 Work-Study Job Fairs at campuses across HCC.

Register for a Job Fair
Students are encouraged to register in advance and select the job fair they plan to attend.
Meet hiring managers, learn about available work-study positions, interview and potentially begin the hiring process.
Who Can Attend?
Students may attend if they:
- Have been awarded Federal Work-Study (FWS) or Texas Work-Study (TWS); or
- Have not been awarded FWS or TWS but meet all of the following:
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Currently enrolled in at least 6 valid semester credit hours
- Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Awarded federal or state financial aid for Fall 2026
- At least $4,000 in unmet need for Fall 2026
Be Prepared for On-the-Spot Hiring
Some students may have the opportunity to begin the hiring process at the job fair.
Bring your original employment documents. Copies will NOT be accepted.
You must bring either:
- One document from List A; or
- One document from List B and one document from List C.
I-9 List of Acceptable Documents
All documents containing an expiration date must be unexpired.
List A
Documents that establish both identity and employment authorization:
- U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card
- Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
- Foreign passport containing a temporary I-551 stamp or temporary I-551 printed notation on a machine-readable immigrant visa
- Employment Authorization Document containing a photograph (Form I-766)
- Certain foreign passport and Form I-94/Form I-94A combinations for individuals temporarily authorized to work for a specific employer
- Passport from the Federated States of Micronesia or Republic of the Marshall Islands with Form I-94/Form I-94A indicating admission under the Compact of Free Association
List B
Documents that establish identity:
- Driver's license or ID card issued by a state or outlying possession of the United States
- Federal, state or local government-issued ID card
- School ID card with a photograph
- Voter's registration card
- U.S. Military card or draft record
- Military dependent's ID card
- U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card
- Native American tribal document
- Driver's license issued by a Canadian government authority
For individuals under age 18 who cannot provide one of the documents above:
- School record or report card
- Clinic, doctor or hospital record
- Day-care or nursery school record
List C
Documents that establish employment authorization:
- Social Security Account Number card, unless it contains an employment restriction
- Certification of report of birth issued by the Department of State
- Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by a state, county, municipal authority or U.S. territory bearing an official seal
- Native American tribal document
- U.S. Citizen ID Card (Form I-197)
- Identification Card for Use of Resident Citizen in the United States (Form I-179)
- Employment authorization document issued by the Department of Homeland Security
Important
Bring ORIGINAL documents. Copies will NOT be accepted.
Receipts for replacement documents may be accepted temporarily in place of certain lost, stolen or damaged documents.
