Adobe

Adobe is a design and media suite, not a chatbot. There is no single Adobe AI to open. The AI features are built into the individual programs.

Where the AI is

  • Generating and editing images, including removing or replacing parts of a photo.
  • Cleaning up video and audio, including removing background noise.
  • Summarizing and answering questions about PDFs.
  • Design suggestions and layout help.

What is available changes as Adobe updates the programs.

How to sign in

  • Go to creativecloud.adobe.com and enter your HCC email address.
  • When Adobe asks which account to use, choose the school or company account rather than a personal Adobe ID.
  • You can also reach Adobe through single sign-on in the HCC portal.

The one Adobe rule to remember

If a file has sensitive information in it, save it to your computer or an HCC drive, not to Adobe cloud storage.

This applies to the whole suite, including the PDF tools, whether or not you used an AI feature.

Two things to watch

  • Generated pictures of people. AI image tools tend to produce a narrow range of faces and body types. Look at what you get before using it in class materials, recruiting, or anything public.
  • Accessibility. An AI-made image still needs alt text. An AI-made video still needs captions. Generating it does not change that.

Credit where it is due

If AI did a real part of the creative work you are turning in or publishing, say so. Students follow the instructor's syllabus.
