Veteran Outreach

The Outreach team engages veteran’s service organization.  The objective is to assist veterans to return to school. During our visits to offices, outreach services personnel provide program information to on-site Veteran representatives.

City of Houston Office of Veterans Affairs

The City of Houston Office of Veterans Affairs’ mission is to assist Houston in becoming the best city in the nation through unparalleled service to veterans, and their families. Outreach Services of HCC has been a partner in programs and workshops assisting veterans.

Harris County Community Service Department of Veteran Affairs

The Harris County Veterans Services Office is an advocate for veterans and their dependents in Harris County. Constantly providing assistance to veterans and their dependents regarding compensation, pension, medical, educational, insurance, and death benefits. In the past and present HCC has collaborated in educational forums and have assisted them as needed.

Texas Veterans Commission

TVC was created in 1927 as the State Service Office to assist veterans of the Indian wars, Spanish-American War and World War I. HCC serves as a close partner to TVC and regularly attending the Region IV all staff training meeting.

United Way Referral Hotline for Veterans

United Way of Greater Houston currently invests $3.5 million in services that meet the needs identified by veterans, including employment services, financial education, counseling and serves on HCC Veteran Advisory Counsel.

VET Centers

Vet Centers are community based and part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. VET Centers has provided numerous services at HCC.

Wounded Warriors

Serves on HCC Veteran advisory committee to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history. The mission is to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
