HCC's 13 Centers of Excellence focus on top-notch faculty and industry best practices to give you the skills for a successful career, from accounting and welding to auto maintenance and fashion design.
The Associate in Arts and the Associate in Science degrees provide a solid foundation for transferring to a four-year university. HCC offers a rigorous core curriculum as well as seven academic clusters such as Education, Liberal Arts, Life Sciences and more where you can pursue 30+ programs, from anthropology and drama to geology and world languages.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence focuses on training qualified workers in high-growth, high-demand and high-wages occupations in machining, additive manufacturing, robotics, CNC operations and advanced manufacturing. The Center also supports incumbent worker training and specialized training needs, through partnerships with the Manufacturing Skills Standard Council and the National Institute of Metalworking Skills.
The Business Center of Excellence (COE) strives to offer business programs geared to helping our stakeholders get a competitive edge in the high skill and high demand global marketplace. The business programs are set up to provide you with an opportunity to pursue a certificate or associate degree pathway that will lead you to your chosen business career. Through the Business COE we will provide leadership in workforce development at the highest possible level by facilitating collaborative partnerships with local businesses, industry, workforce development centers and area school districts. Our business programs are responsive to the needs of the regional industry.

The Construction Center of Excellence offers certificates, competency-based training, and associate degree programs to support the growing need for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, welders, industrial automation, pipefitting, stationary engineers, and general construction skills.
The Consumer Arts & Sciences Center of Excellence provides technical design, fashion, food, culture, costume, beauty, interior and kitchen design training through its eight award-winning arts and degree or certificate programs.
The Center for Digital and Information Technology provides training and industry credentialing in Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Linux, CompTia and other emerging technologies to meet the needs of the more than 1,000 computer-related companies in Houston.
The HCC Engineering Center of Excellence is designed to support career pathways in various engineering fields to fill highly-skilled job opportunities in Houston, and specifically in the Energy Corridor.
Situated in the "Energy Capital of the World," the Global Energy Institute Center of Excellence trains and educates technically-skilled and safety conscious workers for the energy industry supporting the petrochemical, energy corridor and production companies in our region.
The Logistics Center of Excellence prepares professionals who are fully knowledgeable in the logistics industry, in accordance with high standards set by industry professionals to work with shippers, carriers, warehouse, distribution, and supply chain positions.
Through a partnership with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, the Corrosion Center of Excellence is the only center in the Gulf Coast region to provide technical materials science education to meet the workface gap for qualified professionals in the industry.
The Media Arts & Technology Center meets the need for multimedia artists and animators to create animation, web development, and visual effects for television, movies, video games, internet and advertising, as well as industry simulation training used in energy, medical, marketing, social media, and industrial settings.
With a state of the art facility, and highly experienced faculty, the PSI also provides customized training to meet industry needs. In addition to technical training, the PSI also helps train First Responders in important aspects of emergency communications strategy positively affecting our community and supporting the agencies in ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
