Why did you choose HCC Coleman College?
I chose HCC because it was close to home at the time, and the program had great reviews!

Why did you choose your program of study?
I chose Surgical Technology because I am absolutely fascinated by the human body and wanted to be able to help patients and surgeons without the need to communicate with patients directly.

What did you like best about your college experience?
I loved the staff and clinical educators. Without them, the program would not be the same. I give back by serving on the advisory group for the program.

What did you like best about your program of study?
My program did an excellent job of providing both breadth and depth of knowledge across different surgical specialties.

My instructors did their very best to match us with our desired clinical sites. I did my clinical rotation at Houston Methodist Hospital TMC and was lucky enough to be recruited before I graduated.

When you were tired, what motivated you to push forward?
When I put my mind to something, I let nothing stand in my way. It helps that I loved what I was learning and genuinely enjoyed working in the field.

What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
Every single moment (good or bad) is an opportunity to learn — don’t miss it!

How did your education change or improve your life?
It helped me start an exciting career in the operating room, and put my life on the right track!
