The following candidates filed an Application for a Place on the Ballot for the November 7, 2023, HCC Trustee Elections (listed in district order):

Cancellation of Houston Community College Trustee Elections for November 7, 2023
The Texas Election Code permits the Board to cancel the election for any Trustee District in which it has been certified that a candidate is running unopposed. It has been certified that Laolu Davies-Yemitan is unopposed in the election for Trustee District IV; Sean Cheben is unopposed in the election for Trustee District V; and Dr. Pretta VanDible Stallworth is unopposed in the election for Trustee District IX.
The HCC Board of Trustees determined that cancelling the unopposed trustee elections for November 7, 2023, will result in substantial savings to HCC and further that the unopposed candidates would be elected even if an election were held.
