Keri Curtis Schmidt

President & CEO | Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce

Keri Schmidt has served the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce (FBCC) for twenty-two years as the President & CEO of the largest single-county membership-based organization in the Greater Houston region.  The FBCC represents an almost perfectly-balanced diverse community which is a source of strength and pride.   Their values include integrity, trust, passion and inclusivity.  The FBCC provides critical programs that shape our county’s future leaders, connect our economy’s future partners, strengthen our region’s future workforce and advocate for our members in municipal, county, state and federal legislative issues.   The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded the FBCC the 5-Star Accreditation in 2014 and 2019.   This is the highest level of distinction a chamber can achieve and less than one percent of chambers in the nation have earned the five-star status.

Schmidt was born in Kingston, Jamaica and was schooled in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Des Moines, Iowa.   Schmidt graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelors of Arts in Design and Business.  Schmidt earned her Certified Chamber Executive designation from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE).  She is a graduate of the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  She serves on the Fort Bend Economic Development Board and the Gulf Coast Workforce boards.  She also serves on the University of Houston at Sugar Land Advisory Council, the HCC Chancellor’s Business Champions Council and Cartera Health Advisory Council.  Currently, she is an Executive Director on the Texas Association of Business (TAB) and serves as Chairman for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE).
