Join Ultimaker at West Houston Institute's IDEAStudio as they tour North America to meet with top customers within the 3D printing community in each town. They will share techniques and best practices that power the applications that each addresses with professional desktop 3D printing, welcome Ultimaker customers, as well as all of those who wish to learn more about what is possible with this technology, and boost their skills with professional desktop 3D printers.

Tuesday, February 19th

3-6pm: Ultimaker Training: Service & Maintenance

The first opportunity to experience Ultimaker's customer-facing service and maintenance training developed directly from how they train our staff and reseller partners. (Register)

6pm-7pm: HCC Student & Faculty Project Showcase

HCC students, faculty and staff will showcase their work using Ultimaker printers and other digital manufacturing processes. Disciplines represented will include Anthropology, Biology, Fine Arts, Digital Communication, Engineering, and Interior Design.

6pm-7pm: Ultimaker 3D Printer QuickStart

For those new to Ultimaker products, this event will cover the basics of hardware and software setup, as well as basic operations.

7pm-8:30pm: Ultimaker Applications On the Road

The Keynote at this event is Cameron and Rebecca Stern from the jewelry design firm Stern Design Works, who will share how their production pipeline for producing their work evolved with the addition of Ultimakers to their workshop. You will also hear latest updates from the Ultimaker team, from our featured partner Imagenet, and from Jordan Carswell of the IDEAStudio who will feature some of the work accomplished by the HCC community using this technology. (Register)

Wednesday, February 20th

12-3pm: Ultimaker Professionals-Post Processing Hands-on Workshop

This workshop introduces intermediate and advanced 3D printing and post-processing techniques lead by members of our professional community. In-person, Dom Tucci from Tucci Hot Rods will share how he has drawn on autobody techniques to sand, prime, join, seal, and paint parts he uses in his award-winning custom cars. Also included will be presentations introducing techniques from other Ultimaker professionals in the area of industrial design, 3D art and sculpture, medical devices, and more. (Register)

3pm-5pm: Master Class by Stern Design Works

An intimate look at the Stern Design Works pipeline for producing jewelry pieces in metal as well as plastic, including best practices for working with their local foundry for producing parts in metal as well as how to tackle the post-processing stages after receiving back metal parts and painting plastic parts. The first 90 minutes will be a guided sequence and the last 30 minutes will be one-on-one mentoring and questions.  (Register)
