Engage with the West Houston Institute This Summer!
May 24, 2021
The West Houston Institute will be re-opening for in-person activities starting June 7th! We will be working exclusively with HCC students, faculty, and staff, so take advantage of this opportunity to innovate with us this summer! Your health is a priority–all our activities have been adapted to align with current HCC safety guidelines and recommendations. See below for what we have planned:
The Auditorium can be requested for limited HCC-only events this summer. Take advantage of our state-of-the-art media capabilities to hold hybrid events that engage in person and virtual audiences. Requests will be individually considered based on college guidelines at the scheduled time for the event. Contact Program Coordinator, Dr. John Swann, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information or to make a request.
The Collaboratorium is open to support HCC teams over the summer – whether you prefer to meet in-person (max: 15 participants), remotely, or blended. Need to do some strategic planning? Have a decision that needs a collaborative process? Want help brainstorming new ideas? Looking for facilitation support for a meeting or workshop? Our trained staff and state-of-the-art facility are ready to help you achieve your and your team’s goals. Please contact Program Director Dr. Laura Williamson for more information or to schedule an event. email@example.com.
IDEAStudio, the Makerspace at West Houston Institute, will be available for instructional projects and professional consultation this summer. Ready to incorporate project-based learning into your classes or just want to explore how you can use the makerspace with your class next year? Have an idea for your department or program that you would like to bring to life? Work with our talented staff to further your creative capacity. For more information, contact IDEAStudio Manager, Israel Garza, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Learning Commons will reopen for in-person support of teaching and learning over the summer semesters. All services will be available, including Coordinated Instruction for classes and Library Instruction for students in the Learning Commons; Open Computer Area; Study Rooms; and Instructional Computer Lab.
