Start-Up Small Business Series (NE Signature Program)

This entrepreneurial program will be a student-centered approach in partnership with the NE Centers of Excellence that will prepare students interested in entrepreneurship with training and resources with a focus on financial literacy. The Centers of Excellence include Public Safety, Global Energy, Commercial Trucking, and Rig One Oil and Gas Training. These students will learn how to leverage their COE education to become small business owners. 

  1. Focuses on developing student’s education into viable business options.
  2. Marketing and Recruitment for increased enrollment for NE
  3. Opportunity for collaboration with faculty

 

"We Serve You” Business Development Series

This entrepreneurial program would focus on the underserved communities in Northeast. Using a modified Small Business Success Series format, this program will provide resources and assistance to entrepreneurs who are developing their business ideas or expanding their business. This program will partner with the NAACP, The Urban League, The Black Chamber of Commerce, Acres Homes Chamber, Hope Foundation and other organizations to create business growth opportunities for the community.

  3. Create networking with business community in Northeast

 

Legacy Business Innovation Hub

This entrepreneurial program would focus on the underserved communities in Northeast. Incubator Launch Plan

 

  • Identify target audience - skilled trades, gig workers from the media arts programs 
  • Determine unique business launch needs of this audience 
  • Develop programming, leveraging existing HCC c4e curriculum and workshops to fill business knowledge gaps 
  • Develop a "business launch" learning module, focused on opening the participants' business 
  • Create a "Northeast Online Community" to stay connected to existing participants and program alum 

 

 

 

Partnerships (Create collaborations with community partners who share our economic enablement mission)

 

  • Joint/collaborative programming and workshop
  • Leverage relationships with Greater Northside and Acres Homes Chambers for key introductions and identify key community collaborators 
  • Identify collaboration opportunities with those agencies with a related entrepreneurial mission e.g.  NAACP, Urban League 
  • Identify key service providers to our client demographic - community bankers/funding organizations, legal services, marketing agencies and related business services organizations
