Medical Assistant - Certificate Level 2

The program trains individuals to function as multi-skilled technicians in ambulatory health care delivery systems. Specific skills include administrative and clinical duties. Additional skills include 12-lead electrocardiography, dysrhythmia analysis, stress testing, Holter monitor and scanning, phlebotomy, pharmacology and administration of medications and fundamentals of medical insurance with coding. The following courses: HPRS 1201 Introduction to Health Professions, and ENGL 1301 Composition I are prerequisites for admission to the Medical Assistant - Certificate Level II program. Total Credits in the Prerequisite Semester are 5.
