Houston Community College marketing and communications is a finalist for seven Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.

Poppy the Robot was constructed piece by piece on a 3D printer at the HCC West Loop Campus Digital and IT Innovation Lab by a team of students and faculty. The project represents collaboration between HCC’s Digital & Information Technology and Advanced Manufacturing centers of excellence.

A regular ribbon and scissors just wouldn't do for the new Houston Community College Online College. Instead, attendees held tablets and swiped their fingers across the screen for the ribbon cutting marking the launch of 32 fully online degrees and certificates. By the fall of 2019, the college will have a total of 71 fully online degrees and certificates.

Like many young mothers, Victoria Lara longed for a chance to attend college, but lacked the resources for child care. So, when Victoria learned about online classes at Houston Community College, she jumped at the opportunity to begin her college career.

State and national industry leaders will learn how technology is transforming the manufacturing industry at the Gulf Coast Advanced Manufacturing Conference Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the HCC West Houston Institute, 2811 Hayes Road.

To address the global issue of water resiliency, Houston Community College is enlisting the ideas of young minds at Inventathon@HCC Sept. 22-23. The event runs from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Advanced Manufacturing Building at HCC Stafford Campus, 13622 Stafford Road in Stafford.

Houston Community College has been selected to help evaluate and substantially revise introductory history courses at colleges throughout the United States.

The Acres Home campus launched the first of many food distributions for enrolled students as a part of the new pilot food scholarship program. The HCC Food Scholarship offers nutritional items that include meats, vegetables and fruit provided by the Houston Food Bank.

This summer, some Fort Bend County eighth graders got the chance to experience manufacturing up close and personal at a thought-provoking camp at Houston Community College.

The Hunger Game is a competition to help the Houston Food Bank feed more kids and families in our community. Participants earn points by donating food, funds and volunteer time to the Houston Food Bank. The event coincides with Hunger Action Month in September.
