What we do
Each division of the department, Community Development, Public & Media Relations, HCCTV, Print & E-Media and marketing works together, using their resources to empower stakeholders in the college to “tell the story” about the college’s initiatives, programs and messages through a customized communication model that effectively delivers their message.
The world of virtual reality is about to come alive at a VR lab being built at the Houston Community College (HCC) West Loop Campus.
The Houston Community College (HCC) Corrections Education Program is at the forefront of combatting recidivism, as well as improving the lives of those incarcerated. Recently, 77 percent of the students enrolled in HCC’s Corrections Education Program received a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) from ACT WorkKeys—nine of those earned a platinum ranking, which is the highest available, 15 earned gold, and 97 students earned silver or bronze rankings.
Houston Community College (HCC) and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, (MFAH) held a ceremony Thursday, April 18, for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formally recognizing the community partnership between the two institutions. The MOU recognizes this ongoing cultural collaboration and details how HCC and the MFAH will promote a range of joint educational programs.

Ashley Hope, a Houston Community College (HCC) professor of studio art and art history is using cross-disciplinary teaching by having her classes enter the Houston Art Car Parade. Hope's art car cooperative class is a one-of-a-kind class that is offered only at HCC.

Thanks to a partnership with Houston Community College and a select few additional colleges, METRO officials note that HCC METRO Student Q Card student rides increased from roughly 6,000 in FY 2015 to 1 million in FY2018. The partnership allows students to get the discount fare card on campus.
