The 2023 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee hosted by Houston Community College is open to all public, private, charter, and homeschool students who meet eligibility requirements.

The top three spellers of the 2023 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee hosted by Houston Community College will receive all-expenses paid trips to the Washington, D.C. area to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Key Dates

• 12/31/2022 - Deadline for Schools to enroll at spellingbee.com ($175 per school)
• 1/31/2023 - Deadline for Schools to conduct school-level spelling bee
• 2/28/2023 - Deadline for Schools to register school bee champion (via spellingbee.com)
• 2/28/2023 - Deadline to conduct District/County/Area spelling bees
• 3/03/2023 - Deadline to register District, County, or Area Bee champions (via HCC online form)
• 3/06/2023 - Regional Qualifier Online Test Opens (if applicable)
• 3/10/2023 - Regional Qualifier Online Test Closes (if applicable)
• 3/25/2023 - 2023 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee hosted by Houston Community College
