HCC to host two vaccination sites in June
May 25, 2021
Houston Community College’s Acres Homes and Central campuses will be COVID-19 vaccination sites on Wednesday, June 9 through Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The vaccines are administered by the Texas National Guard at no cost to the public, in partnership with the Texas Department of Emergency Management. This is for anyone that received the first dose in May.
Anyone needing the first dose of the vaccine can receive it at either location on the dates and times listed above. Walk-ins and drive-ups are encouraged, and no appointment is necessary.
Additionally, the City of Houston is administering the Pfizer vaccines at the HCC Northeast Campus from Tuesday, June 1 through Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (subject to change)
The Texas National Guard is delivering the Pfizer vaccine at the two HCC sites in support of irradicating the pandemic crisis in the greater metropolitan Houston area.
New guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now allows young adults ages 12 to 15 to receive the vaccine as part of new efforts to reach herd immunity.
Faculty and staff (full-time, part-time and adjuncts) who receive a vaccination at the locations during scheduled work hours will not be charged leave. More information will be sent by Talent Engagement through a TE News e-mail.
The operation will be extended if demand warrants.
