Nominate your colleagues for the 2013 Chancellor’s Eagle Awards

Deadline for submission: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.

The Chancellor’s Eagle Awards allow Houston Community College employees to recognize faculty and staff members whose exceptional service helps us realize our mission of being an opportunity institution for local students and the most relevant community college in the nation. HCC Chancellor Dr. Mary S. Spangler will present 14 Eagle Awards this year, one in each of the following categories:

How to Nominate a Faculty or Staff or Administrator Member for an Award

1. Complete the appropriate on-line nomination form found above.

Note that individuals may not nominate themselves for a Chancellor's Eagle Award.  Past Chancellor's Eagle Award Winners are not eligible to be nominated more than once.  Names of past winners 

2. Gather for submission three letters of recommendation in support of your nomination.  The Faculty Eagle Award nomination must upload three letters of support, one of which must be from a student.

The nomination process is an independent process and all HCC employees and students are eligible to nominate any full-time HCC employee of their choosing.  The nominator has the right to maintain the privacy of their selection and does not have to disclose their selection to any party.  The nomination process is confidential and the HCC Foundation will not disclose the names of those individuals who have either been nominated for an award or of the nominator.

How Award Recipients Will Be Selected
Award recipients will be selected by a 14-member committee consisting of representatives from each of the six colleges and the HCC District.  This committee will consist of seven faculty members and seven staff members, who will collect and review all nominations submitted and select a recipient for each  category.

Awards Presentation
HCC Chancellor Dr. Mary S. Spangler will honor the 2013 Chancellor’s Eagle Award recipients at the Employee Recognition and Awards Luncheon on a date to be announced. Recipients also will receive a medallion and a $1,000 cash award.
