HCC Trustee Neeta Sane named one of YMCA's Adult Minority Achievers
The Houston-area YMCA named HCC Board of Trustee Neeta Sane one of YMCA's adult minority achievers.
Sane and 20 others were chosen because of their success in their respective fields, service to Houston's youth, and contributions to the improvement of our community's quality of life.
The honorees will be celebrated at the 42nd Annual YMCA Minority Achievers Gala, "Achievement: A Journey to Success." The event will be held Saturday, March 27 at Houston Marriott Westchase. The gala will honor Mr. Quentin Mease, founder of the program, who passed away in early 2009, at the age of 100.
Ten high school students from the Youth Achievers Program will also receive the 2010 Eva M. Burford Youth Achievers Scholarship.
The YMCA's Minority Achievers Program provides mentors for area youths. Designed to empower minority youngsters, it helps them develop a positive sense of self and encourages them to set high educational and career goals.
