New Student General Admissions Steps
Admission Steps
Step 1: Submit an online admissions application at hccs.edu
Select a program/career cluster (An early start ensures you have plenty of time to visit with an advisor and plan your course schedule)
Step 2: Proof of Vaccination / Immunization
(New requirement- Spring 2012)
Step 3: Apply for financial aid and /or Scholarships
(Even though you think you might not qualify, this will help determine what resources might be available)
Step 4: Take appropriate testing (if necessary)
(Exam results are used to determine placement in reading, writing and math courses)
Step 5: Pre-Enrollment Session
Every first-time college or transfer student with less than 12 semester credit hours who is enrolling in HCC credit courses is required to complete a New Student Pre- Enrollment Session at one of the campuses.
Step 6: Meet with an Advisor
(Transcripts are needed to determine placement and prerequisite requirements)
Step 7: Register for Class(es)
Step 8: Pay Tuition and Fees apply for the installment plan online or at a Campus Business Office
Step 9: Obtain your photo ID card
Step 10: Parking Decal
Step 11: Buy Books at the College Bookstore
