Admission Steps

  1. Step 1: Submit an online admissions application at hccs.edu
    Select a program/career cluster (An early start ensures you have plenty of time to visit with an advisor and plan your course schedule)
  2. Step 2: Proof of Vaccination / Immunization
    (New requirement- Spring 2012)
  3. Step 3: Apply for financial aid and /or Scholarships
    (Even though you think you might not qualify, this will help determine what resources might be available)
  4. Step 4: Take appropriate testing (if necessary)
    (Exam results are used to determine placement in reading, writing and math courses)
  5. Step 5: Pre-Enrollment Session
    Every first-time college or transfer student with less than 12 semester credit hours who is enrolling in HCC credit courses is required to complete a New Student Pre- Enrollment Session at one of the campuses.
  6. Step 6: Meet with an Advisor
    (Transcripts are needed to determine placement and prerequisite requirements)
  7. Go to Veteran Forms
  8. Visit VA Department
    (Visit VA Department at 3100 Main Houston Texas 77002 between 8 AM and 5 PM Mon-Fri 11th floor)
  9. Orientation
    (Students should contact the College Student Success Center at one of the campuses about orientation)
  10. Graduation
    Please file for graduation through your HCC Academic Counselor prior to your last semester.
