A lawyer, social activist and former state representative, Yolanda Navarro Flores carefully cultivates connections between HCC and District I stakeholders with the belief that a shared vision is the key to both student success and community building. (District I)

Bruce A. Austin is a native Houstonian from the Fifth Ward, where he attended Wheatley High School. Elected to the HCC Board of Trustees in 1989, Mr. Austin was chairman from 1990 to 1992 and again from 2000 to 2002. He served as deputy secretary of the Board in 2006. (District II)

Herlinda Garcia has been a champion of education serving as principal of J. P. Henderson Elementary for three decades. (District III)

Carroll G. Robinson is an Associate Professor at the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University (TSU) where he has served as Associate Dean of External Affairs. (District IV)

As an immigrant from Iran, Leila Feldman strongly believes in the vital role education plays in our modern society and is passionate about our moral obligation to provide all students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Sandie Mullins' life focuses on commitment to community. As Houston Community College Board Trustee for District VI, she offers a background that uniquely complements the HCC Board of Trustees. (District VI)

Neeta Sane strongly believes that educational attainment is a basic necessity for all members of the community to succeed and reach their fullest potential in life. (District VII)

A life-long educator and community volunteer, Eva Loredo brings a no-excuses spirit to the Houston Community College and its Board of Trustees. (District VIII)

Christopher W. Oliver has a passion and dedication for enhancing communities across the city, and he understands that education is the single biggest factor in changing people's lives. (District IX)

Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees are held on the third (3rd) Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the System Administrative Building.

The Board of Trustees is the official governing body of the Houston Community College System. It is composed of nine members who are elected to staggered six-year terms from single-member districts.
