Intensive English Courses
The Intensive English program (IEP) is unique in several ways:
• The IEP is part of the Houston Community College System. It is not a separate
institute like many of the other intensive English programs in the Houston area.
• Students in our program are HCCS students with access to all college facilities
and student services.
• The IEP is also the most reasonably-priced intensive English program in
Houston and the surrounding area.
• Our faculty and staff are highly qualified, experienced professionals dedicated to
providing the best learning environment for our students.
PURPOSE
The Houston Community College Intensive English Program meets the language needs of non-native speakers of English. The program is open to both legal residents of the United States and international students.
Intensive English courses are appropriate for students who want to improve their English skills before studying in academic areas and for students who want to communicate more effectively with English speakers. Class size is limited. Classes are taught in English by experienced professional instructors of English as a second language. This allows for enhanced student/teacher interaction.
