Mission of the Office of Disability Support Services
Houston Community College is committed to providing an accessible and supportive environment for students with disabilities. In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Disability Support Service Office (DSSO) at each college of Houston Community College is responsible for arranging reasonable accommodations for all qualified students with a documented disability (e.g. physical, learning, psychiatric, vision, hearing, etc.) who needs to arrange reasonable accommodations must contact the Disability Services Office at the respective college. It is recommended that students meet with an ADA counselor at least 60 days prior to the beginning of each term. Faculty is authorized to provide only the accommodations requested by the Disability Support Services Office.
