• Diversity targets are met
• Improved “time-to-fill” for key positions
• LEI graduates are successful candidates for higher level positions
• Developmental lateral and special assignments are filled by LEI graduates
• Enhanced HCC reputation enables external recruitment
Program Calendar
LEI is on hiatus for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Cohort Size
Each annual cohort is limited to 15-25 participants
To be Eligible for Consideration
o Full-time exempt employee with at least 2 continuous years of HCC service
o Documented sustained individual performance that meets or exceeds expectations (LEI is not a “fix-it” program for performance problems.)
o Graduate of the College Leadership Program or equivalent program
o Commitment to fully participate in all aspects of LEI; attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Considered an invaluable opportunity and investment in personal/professional development, no stipend or additional compensation is associated with participation in the LEI
Nomination Process
Based upon the above eligibility criteria and the program purpose of identifying and cultivating future HCC leaders, each college president, vice chancellor, associate vice chancellor, executive director or equivalent may invite two (2) persons from his/her organization to apply for consideration by the LEI Selection Committee. Invitations to apply should be made after the intents, rigor, and time commitment of LEI have been explained to the potential nominee.
An application packet includes a completed application by the nominee, resume or vitae, and a confidential supervisor recommendation form completed by the nominee’s immediate supervisor (sent directly to the attention of the LEI Selection Committee).
Selection Committee
A selection committee, composed of the HCC Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, and the Chief Human Resources Officer will consider the submitted application packets and select a cohort of 15-25 diverse individuals who will be challenged by the program and be challenging to one another.
Selection criteria* include:
o Application Quality
o Resume or curriculum vitae
o Supervisor/next level Manager LEI recommendation
