Instructional Projects- Request Form
Administrators, staff and faculty may request IMC's services to assist with short-term projects, such as: web page and web site development and design, database development, learning objects, and instructional audio/video development. To request a project please complete the TLR Project Request Form.
Web Page Support - IMC provides graphic and programming assistance to administration, staff, and faculty who want to update or develop web sites and/or databases which are served on the IMC web servers. IMC assists Discipline Chairs with the creation and/or updates of their system-level web pages (PLONE) called Discipline Pages. IMC also assists in the creation of non-secure web databases using FileMakerPro. In 2006-2007, HCC will be implementing a Content Management System, which will house the HCC system and colleges' non-instructional web pages. IMC will have a major role in the transition to and training for this system. The Communications Department will spearhead and manage the project.
Learning Objects - IMC develops instructional learning objects that compliment curriculum delivery and can be shared system-wide through a web site or database. Learning objects are digital or non-digital reusable units of instruction, including, but not limited to: animations, audio/video snippets, and small web-delivered applications. IMC also promotes the creation of learning objects by faculty members through Faculty Fellowships.
Audio/Video - IMC offers broadcast quality audio/video support for faculty wanting to develop a variety of instructional video programs or projects. Filming may be done in the IMC studio (3100 Main) or on location and delivery methods include: DVD, CD, VHS, or the web.
Although IMC assists the colleges with web pages, many of the colleges have part time or full time Web Developers and Instructional Technicians who assist faculty with creating Learning Web pages and Blackboard course development.
